Sir Bob Geldorf Is Coming To Newport On 23rd April

We are expecting Sir Bob Geldorf to arrive in Newport on the 23rd April where he will be attending a two day business forum at the International Convention Centre. The ICC will be hosting The Business Excellence Forum also known as BizX, which has been organised by broadcaster Clare Balding, with keynote speaker being Sir Bob Geldorf.

Sir Bob Geldorf’s acclaimed fame came through his musical carrier, where he was both the lead singer and song writer with his band Boomtown Rats. “Do they Know it’s Christmas” was one of his greatest contributions towards parts of the lyrics. In the UK the single sold more than 3 million copies with singers such as Paul Young, Boy George, George Michael, Simon Le Bon and Bono contributing with their vocals to make it one of the best Christmas songs in history.

Not only is Sir Bob Geldorf a musical talent, but he is also a motivational speaker, political activist, author, businessman and a philanthropist. He was also one of the organisers for Band Aid for Africa in the 1980’s where he organised a charity for Ethiopia.

It will be an absolute privilege to see Sir Bob Geldorf in Newport and to listen to him speak. It will also be a boost for Newport and for the new ICC building.

Enjoy “Do they know it’s Christmas”, which we included as a video even though it’s not the right season.
